Join mindful thought leader, Hope Bastine in enhancing your inner character strengths and virtues with a range of mindfulness meditation techniques in the company of conscious, like-minded people living in the real world.
What are character strengths and virtues?
The series of meditation session uses Positive Psychology to bring the practice of mindfulness and the practice of character strengths together. It includes discussions, meditations, strengths practices, lecture/input, and take-home activities.
There are two ways Aristotle’s Virtues and Modern Mindfulness integrate:
Strong mindfulness: improving mindfulness practices by weaving in character strengths.
Mindful strengths use: improving character strength use by weaving in mindfulness.
This training technique can be an advance on the traditional 8-week course that teaches individuals to engage more deeply with life. But it is a stand alone training technique. Emphasis is placed on exercises that are discussed and practiced each session. This teaches the basics of mindfulness and of character strengths, and offers more advanced, practical ways to integrate the two. It presents a unique angle to living one’s best life, re-discovering happiness, achieving goals, finding deeper meaning and life engagement, and coping with problems.
What To Expect:
Doors Open: 7:15pm
Workshop Starts: 7:30pm
Each session kicks off with a one-minute Mini Moment to relax and centre yourself before we open the floor for a themed, lively discussion.
This is then followed by a guided meditation designed to expand your awareness, shake off the stress, and establish a deeper sense of inner calm and bliss.
The evening closes with Q&A and the chance to drink and banter with like-minded people.
